Abstract

In order to investigate the competitive ability of canola cultivars with weeds at different planting dates, a split plot factorial experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with three replications during two crop years (2021-2023) in Amlash rural areas of Guilan province. The experiment includes two sets of treatments, weedy and weed free as main plots and four canolla cultivars (RGS003, Delgan, Drago and Hayola4815) and three planting dates (6th of October, 26th of October and 15th of Novamber) as factorial arrangement in subplots in both years. The results showed that Delgan cultivar on the planting date of 26th of October and Drago cultivar on the planting date of 6th of October had the highest yield, respectively, with an average yield of 2998 and 2945 kg/ha, the lowest weed biomass and the highest competitive index. According to the results of this study, planting the Delgan cultivar on 26th of October and the Drago cultivar on 6th of October is recommended in the eastern region of Guilan due to its higher competition and resistance index to weeds compared to other cultivars.
