To evaluate the effect physical and chemical methods integrated with stale seedbed on weed management in artichoke, an experiment was conducted at Zanjan University in 1397. The bed type in two levels (conventional seedbed and stale seedbed) was used as the main factor and weed control methods (dark mulch, double mulch, stubble mulch, oxyfluorfen 3 L ha-1, halosulfuron 304.8 g a.i ha-1, linuron 3 kg ha-1), weedy control and weed-free control were considered as sub-factor. The results showed that the highest total dry weight of weeds (204 g m-2) was obtained in the conventional bed when integrated with halosulfuron and the lowest total dry weight of weeds was obtained in stale seed bed and the use of linuron. The highest artichoke fresh weight (20220 kg ha-1) was obtained in stale seed bed and the use of oxyfluorfen and the lowest fresh weight (3033 kg ha-1) was obtained in the conventional bed and weedy control. The highest artichoke dry weight (2275 kg ha-1) was obtained in the treatments under stale seed bed and dark plastic mulch and the lowest dry weight (312.5 kg ha-1) was obtained in weedy control with conventional bed. According to the results, among the weed control methods, halosulfuron and oxyfluorfen had more efficacy on broadleaf and grass weed respectively. Also, despite 100% control of weed, linuron had a severe negative effect on artichoke yield.
