Araujia is a weed native to south America that was introduced to Europe and was likely disseminated to Iran from those countries. This plant has adapted well to citrus orchard in the Mediterranean region. The aim of this study was to evaluate control of Araujia under the canopy of Feijoa (Acca Sellowina) in the Ramsar Citrus and Subtropical Fruits Research Institute. During the year 2021-2022, a randomized complete block design with 7 treatments and 3 repetitions was employed. Treatments were: 1- Glyphosate, 2- Glyphosate+ Alion, 3- Glyphosate+ Matsuda, 4- Target+ Florex, 5- Tide MSM, 6- Atlantis and 7- Control. Treatments were applied at the 20 cm growth stage of Araujia. Tide MSM caused severe damage to Feijoa. The mixtures of Glyphosate with Alion or Matsuda provided the strongest control across all three sampling times, reducing dry weight of Araujia by approximately 100% at 3 months and by about 88% at 14 months after spraying. Atlantis achieved 11%, 94% and 87% reduction at 3, 11 and 14 months, respectively. Target and Florex showed no significant effect on Araujia at any sampling time, and Glyphosate alone provided moderate control. In a separate experiment targeting several-year-old, 1–1.5 cm-diameter trunk cuttings of Araujia, concentrated Glyphosate was applied directly to the trunk. This treatment achieved complete control with no regrowth up to the final time (14 months after treatment). Therefore, it is possible to control Araujia masses with a mixture of Glyphosate and Allion or Matsuda, and control individual perennial Araujia with concentrated Glyphosate.
